2225 Sustainability & Goals
1. Introduction
In adapting to the increasingly more volatile climate through apparel innovation, it is our goal to do so without adding any straws to the camel, and take off any burden we can while we are at it. Below are 2225’s sustainability approaches:
2. Designing for durability and longevity
Every 2225 piece comes with extensive material research: Our clients often wear our pieces in ranges from casual to sport-level activities, so we always test our products to withstand various conditions for durability.
2.1 Lower carbon footprint
On every 2225 items’ way to their final destination to meet our clients, we want to make sure to have the lowest carbon footprint on every route and route stop. This includes:
- Prioritizing sea freight over air-freight for bulk shipments whenever timelines allow.
- Consolidating orders to avoid fragmented shipments.
- Working with fulfillment partners closer to key markets to shorten last-mile distances.
- Designing packaging to be compact and lightweight, reducing shipping volume.
- Every routing decision is evaluated for speed and environmental cost.
2.2 Sourcing
We prioritize recycled fibers where durability and function allow, and partner with suppliers that meet recognized environmental and labor standards.
2.3 Production
We reduce impact at the process level.
- Favoring manufacturers that actively manage water, energy, and chemical inputs to limit consumption.
- Requiring wastewater to be treated before discharge in accordance with local regulations and aligning with international standards such as ZDHC (Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals) and Bluesign® system.
2.4 Logistics
We reduce emissions by controlling how products move — from factory to final delivery.
- Prioritizing lower-impact transport methods where possible
- Consolidating shipments to reduce unnecessary transit
- Transitioning internal road transport toward hybrid and electric vehicles by 2030
3. Corporate HQ
We are working toward transitioning all 2225 corporate locations to renewable energy sources over time.
Energy use is continuously reviewed to reduce operational impact as we scale.
3.1 Partners
We work with partners that meet our standards for environmental responsibility and operational transparency.
- Evaluating suppliers based on material sourcing, production practices, and compliance
- Prioritizing partners aligned with recognized environmental and labor frameworks
3.2 Human Rights
We require our partners to provide safe and fair working conditions across their operations.
- Conducting due diligence on labor practices and working environments
- Expecting compliance with local labor laws and internationally recognized standards
Within 2225, we aim to build a working environment grounded in fairness, respect, and sustainable workloads.
3.3 Waste
We design products with their full lifecycle in mind.
- Reducing waste through durable materials and considered construction
- Developing systems to support product return and recycling
